In today’s business world, navigating through corporate politics is more challenging than ever.  Multigenerational workforces, cultural differences amongst employees and lack of diversity in executive leadership are just a few of the many challenges that present roadblocks for minorities seeking to climb the corporate ladder.  All too often, the rightperson is passed up for a promotion or other work-related opportunity simply because their voice is unheard; they lack a champion – a workplace advocate.

Join NAAAHR-LA as we present Making a Difference: Being an Advocate in the Workplace, a discussion between seasoned leaders on what it truly means to be a workplace advocate for another.  Over the course of the discussion, attendees will learn best practices for:

  • Assessing their capacity to be an advocate;
  • Defining the advocate role and communicating it;
  • Managing the expectations of the employee; and
  • Providing timely and constructive feedback.

Panelists include:

  • Tiffany Smith-Anoa’i  – Executive Vice President, Diversity, Inclusion & Communications, CBS Entertainment
  • Thela Thatch – Chief Diversity Officer, Live Nation
  • Tana Session – Principal Consultant, TMS Business Solutions Inc.
  • Corbin Pickett – Director of Business Operations, Youth Mentoring Action Network

Moderated by: Stacey Gordon – Chief Human Capital Consultant, Career Incubator
