3rd Annual Spring Into Summer Weight Loss Challenge

Obesity is a complex disorder involving an excessive amount of body fat. Obesity isn’t just a cosmetic concern. It increases your risk of diseases and health problems such as heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure. The good news is that even modest  weight loss  can improve or prevent the health problems associated with obesity. Dietary changes, increased physical activity and behavior changes can help you lose weight.

As the New Year approaches the #1 resolution in America is to lose weight. In partnership with Next Level Up Entertainment and P2P Productions, The Los Angeles Urban League Young Professionals (also known as the YPs) are gearing up for the 3rd Annual Spring into Summer Weight Loss Challenge to spread health awareness throughout the Los Angeles community.

Traditionally a weight loss challenge is when a group of individuals put the same amount of money in “the pot”. Whoever loses the most amount of weight in the agreed upon time wins the pot. The YPs have created the Spring Into Summer Weight Loss Challenge to provide a positive platform where participants can stay motivated in reaching their fitness goals for 2015. From January 31st – April 25th, residents in Los Angeles County are invited to participate in complimentary fitness workouts and health activities throughout LA to shed some pounds for a chance to win “The Pot”. $10 entry fee.
