Membership Spotlight: Robynn Cannon
Originally from Chicago, IL, Robynn is a graduate of Texas Southern University with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Finance. Shortly after graduating college, she moved to Southern California to begin her career with Sempra Energy. Robynn is currently working for an affiliate of Sempra Energy, Southern California Gas Company, as a program manager overseeing one of the company’s customer programs.
Outside of work, Robynn is involved with numerous organizations. She is currently the Director of Programming for the Riordan Programs Alumni Association, and also is a member of the Riordan Leadership Institute, in which she has been tasked to serve as a Board Intern for the LA Ronald McDonald House. Robynn is also a Big Sister to a 12-year old girl through Big Brothers, Big Sisters. In her downtime, Robynn enjoys traveling and spending quality time with family, friends, and her Yorkie-poo, Bentley.
Despite being a new member of the LA Urban League Young Professionals organization, Robynn dove right in by getting involved and adding value. Robynn serves on the Special Events committee and has been for the past several months, putting her passion for event planning to great use. She really appreciates all of the hard work the LAULYP represent, and looks forward to serving with the organization going forward.
