42nd Annual Whitney M. Young, Jr. Awards Dinner
Presented by the Los Angeles Urban League, the Whitney M. Young, Jr. Awards Dinner is a Los Angeles tradition. It serves as the League’s most important fundraiser, providing needed resources to ensure quality education, economic literacy, job preparedness and placement, entrepreneurial opportunities, and minority business development. Traditionally, the Whitney M. Young, Jr. Award has been bestowed on a major champion of community solutions who has exhibited significant leadership in advancing equal opportunities and economic interests of African Americans and other minorities. The 2015 recipients are Bernard and Shirley Kinsey, well known Los Angeles philanthropists and art collectors. TheJohn Mack Lifetime Achievement Award honoree will be Myrlie Evers-Williams, CEO of the Medgar Evers Institute and Chairman of the Board, Emeritus of the NAACP. Other honorees are still to be announced.
